Flower Power

Hello and happy Tuesday all :) The sun has decided to break through the clouds bringing with it a lovely spring time warmth. So, I've just popped outside to take some cool photos of the flowers in my English Garden for you...Hope you enjoy :)

I do love the close-ups and blurry effects. I'm experimenting at the moment with my 'new' second-hand f1.8 fixed lens and magnifying attachments. I would really recommend these little magnifying lenses if you want great macro shots and have a tight budget. You can get them really cheap from here. It's definitely worth it too if your taking close-ups of jewellery etc.

Anyway...best get back to the crochet :)

Chevron Cushion

Hello there folks, how have you been?  I hope you all had a lovely craft and crochet filled week :)

Today,  my lovelies, I have a brand new pattern for you....

Yeay! This is the lovely Chevron Cushion crochet pattern! I do love a bit of geometric design at the moment, so chevrons are perfect for that modern look. You can pop him on your settee, or chair and is ideal to brighten up any room.

The cushion is nice and large and has a opening in the back to take your cushion pad in or out. To make him, I used DROPS Paris 100% cotton yarn which comes is a large variety of yummy colours.

The pattern includes lots and lots of photos to guide you through making this delightful cushion cover and as always, with each purchase, you will be able to download both English and US versions.

If you fancy like having a go at making this little project, you can instantly download it from any of my shops;

Enjoy your weekend all, and see you back here soon,

Toodle Pip :)

Perfect Buys

A happy howdy everyone :) Today, I thought I'd write a blog post about the lovely goodies I have bought over the last few weeks.

During a rare shopping trip to Derby a few weeks ago, I just had to nip in to one of my favourite shops, Paperchase. From a young age, I loved stationary shops. I would collect pens, pencil sharpeners and all manner of fancy things to put in my school pencil case. So, when I saw these very pretty Washi tapes, I simply had to get them. They are such beautiful colours printed with lace. What more could you ask for :)

The next thing on my list of things to show you is this wonderfully coloured vase. I picked this up from a local charity shop. Since we had our hallway and landing decorated, I've been looking out for a Mustard (my favourite colour) coloured vase to sit on the windowsill. And, to my luck I came across this for a mere quid - that's £1 between me and you ;)

Ok, so I've saved  the best 'til last. With my Mum's birthday coming up, I've been keeping my eye's peeled as to what to get her. My lovely friend Caroline at Caroline Rose Art had just made some of her wonderful prints in to mugs, which I thought would be perfect for her. I settled on the Caravan Mug...and a few other things while I was there :)

The 'A Home In Which To Rome' notebook is great to jot down my crochet pattern ideas and I just couldn't resist this Alphabet Print for Tiny D's bedroom (frame from here)...

...I have to say, I think the hedgehog is my favourite :)

You can find Caroline Rose Art's website here and her Etsy shop here. Please do give her a visit, her work is so wonderfully cheery and delightful!

Well, that is all for now my lovelies :)

See you back here later in the week for a bit of a Giveaway!

Bring Me SunShine

Good day to you all. I hope you had a great weekend and wonderful Mothering Sunday (maybe you received a handmade gift :))

This week, my friends, we have something a little bit special to celebrate - Happy First Birthday Little Doolally!

This time last year, I made my first blog post, here, on Little Doolally. It was a simple hello with no photos and short sentence about my first Mothers Day with Tiny D. In this last year, I've learnt sooo much about blogging, photography, design and about writing great crochet patterns. I can't imagine what I'll learn in this next year to come :)

Also, today, I have a brand new patten for you. The Sunshine Granny Baby Blanket pattern.

I have to say, this is probably one of my favourite types of Granny Square. A little different from the traditional Granny design, this one is very pretty and intricate indeed.

I have made this blanket using one of my favourite yarns - DROPS Merino Extra Fine Superwash. It's 100% wool and really is seriously soft. I keep going back to this yarn as the colours in this range are fantastic. I always buy my yarn from here, and would really recommend it.

Hello Peter!  :)
You can find the pattern in any of my shops -

That's all for now folks. Have a great week and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts :)

Toodle Pip!
