Cosy Cowl

I've been busy this week whipping up this new pattern that will keep you lovely and warm in this winter weather. It's really quick and easy to get going and before you know it you will have made yourself this....

A lovely comfy and cosy cowl.

Now, I've never owned or worn a cowl before, but after wearing this one for a few days, I'm struggling to take it off - just because I love wearing it sooo much. It's great! It's like having a polo neck jumper on, but if you get too hot, you simply slip it off over your head. And what's better, there's no end bits to get in the way like a scarf. It's brilliant for wearing indoors as well as outdoors with your favourite jacket or coat.

The stitch I have used here is lovely, it looks kind of knitted. Also, the inside of the cowl looks quite different from the outside, so you can wear it which ever way suits your mood.

As always you can find the pattern in my shops;

I hope you enjoy making it. I have several more orders to make more for family members already!

So, I'd best get cracking :)

See you soon my lovelies, and have a great weekend!

Winifred Baby Blanket

Yippee, new crochet pattern time :)

This time I decided to use the super softie, DROPS Merino Extra Fine DK yarn. It is so lovely, soft and snuggly and real great for hooking. It's the first time I've used this yarn, and I'd really recommend it. You can buy it from here.

So with this gorgeous yarn, I have made a new blanket, called the Winifred Baby Blanket, named after my Grandmother.

I love this stitch, it's so textured and looks great in bright stripes, but using one colour would look great too!

This pattern is great for beginners who are looking for that next step as it only uses a combination of 3 basic stitches. If you would like to have a go, you can find the it in any of my shops;

I hope you will have a try, and happy hooking, what ever you are making!

Cheerio :)

Happy New Year

Firstly, Happy New Year! Wow, 2013 went by really quickly, didn't it? For me it was definitely a year of big changes and great achievement, so that now I can do what I have always dreamt of - being a full time Mummy to my little Tiny D, and (when I get chance) use my crafty talents to write colourful crochet patterns :)

Now then...did you all have a good Christmas? Ours in the Little Doolally household was fun packed and went by in a whirlwind. I got some lovely gifts including some back copies of 'Pretty Nostalgic'. Yeay! These magazines are crammed with vintagy goodness :)

One thing that I really, really enjoy about the Christmas break are The Sales! Oh yes, I save up any spare dosh on the run up to the big day, and spend it when all the shops have 50% off. This year, I did a little on line shopping too and got these few little goodies from here for a real bargain!

I'm going to use the big bag as my new 'project bag' and stash whatever I happen to be working on in there. Speaking of projects...A couple of months a go, I started these...

I had seen similar art on different websites and thought I'd have a go. I have to say, I'm pretty chuffed with them :)

I love these colours and look perfect on the plain newly painted walls in our hallway.

A glimpse of the latest crochet pattern I've been working on :)

Have a great week and see you back here real soon!

Toodles ;)
