Country Cottage ♥

Helloo! I do hope you are well and looking forward to the weekend. Today, I have finally got round to posting the Eight Pieces of Lovely I made, what seems like yonks ago. If you don't already know about the yarn bombing adventures of Lucy at Attic 24, you can have a read here. I think it's really great to bring the crochet community together and work on one massive project like this for all to enjoy :)

Off to North Yorkshire they go (Bye, Bye bunting!).

I have to say, I've been super excited for one whole day (because of their seriously fast delivery!), something I ordered yesterday came for me this very morning! Want to see what it was?

New yarn! Eeek! I am sooo in love with this new yarn! It's by Drops and is called Cotton Viscose. I love it because it's soft like cotton but with a kind of shiny/shimmery thread added in with it ♥

See what I mean about shiny (and we all like a bit of shiny, now don't we :D)
I got it from here if you fancy a try. Hmm now what to make with it.....

Well - you could try my new pattern (see how I snuck that in there!) and make a lovely chocolate box Country Cottage with it! Ta-dah!

Yes, a new pattern for the weekend! This pretty little cottage is great to make to sit on your shelf for that little quirky touch to your room or, as a soft toy. It kind of reminds me of the little cottages and houses you would find in Fairy Tales like Hansel and Gretel or Little Red Riding Hood.

You can find the pattern in my shops here;

I hope you enjoy making it :)

Well, now I have to say 'Cheerio' as Tiny D has just woken from her nap,

See you back again soon,

Hoot!

Hello! I hope everyone has enjoyed the scorching weekend, and not been baking yourselves too much :)

As promised, here is my new pattern - a seriously cute little Owl. It took me a little while longer to write the pattern and take photos of him as I made several adjustments to get him looking just the  way I wanted. I got so attached to the little guy, I've named him Percy :) Do you like him?

When making Percy, I used 100% cotton DK. I really enjoy using DROPs Muskat 100% cotton yarn at the moment. Here's a link to where I buy it from, they do really great offers and very quick delivery. To make him stand up, I popped in some dried marrow-fat peas in the bottom just to give that bit of weight. He looks great sitting there on my shelf now!

You can find the pattern on;

The tutorial has lots of photos to guide you through making this great fellow, and is a fantastic gift idea for any age, or to just have sitting on a shelf. Don't forget - you can sell what you make (perfect for those craft fairs!)

You can find the crochet Bird pattern here
Do feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of the page - I do like a bit of chit chat :)

Byeeee!

The Wollaton Adventure

Well, it's been over a week since I last wrote on here. The weather here has just been too lovely to sit inside on a computer, so I do apologise, sorry! Tiny D and me have been on lot's of walks in the sunshine, and today, a playdate. Actually it's more of a Mother's Meet. Most weeks a group of us gals meet up for coffee and cake and of course a good old chin-wag :)

This week we went to a place called Wollaton Hall. It's kinda famous, you know. The Hall itself was used as the  'Wayne Manor' in the most recent Batman film 'The Dark Knight Rises'. Oh yes, all sorts of exciting things happen round here!
It's so lovely there. There's a big lake, lot's of trees and greenery and a nice little cafe, not to mention all the deer.

Tiny D had lot's of fun, as always playing with her little friends and er...eating the grass...She's become a real tinker!

Hello ice cream man!

Well, enjoy the weather while the sun is shining :)
There will be a new pattern coming your way very soon!

Ta-tah for now!
