Summer Holiday!

Oh what bliss this last week has been. Time away from the busy, routine-structured life in  Nottingham to sweet, mellow Dorset. Sun (well some...), sea and a spot of sight seeing made our first summer holiday with Tiny D complete.

We spent time on the beach everyday. Kite flying, building sand castles and paddling in the sea was just the ticket to blow all those cobwebs away. Tiny D didn't enjoy the feel of sand very much at first, then she got so used to it that she wanted to eat it at every opportunity.

Day dreaming and crazy hair :)

Let's go fly a kite.....
We visited many places including a little village called Corfe Castle. We found (not so surprisingly) castle ruins right in the middle of it. It was so atmospheric and mystical as there was a lot of fog around that morning. For some reason, I really enjoy visiting old castles - it always makes me wonder who lived there and imagine what it must have been like.

There was lots of great food involved, including my first time trying Spanish Tapas. I must recommend it, it was scrumptious! Oh, and I mustn't forget the copious amounts of yummy coffee and cake :)

I really cannot wait to go on holiday again. I may have to start planning another one right away! But for now, I need to buckle down and crack on with my crochet patterns. I hope you are enjoying them so far. I have a few ideas up my sleeve so keep popping in for the next new one. If you would like to try any, you can find them here;

Well, that's all for now :)

Cheerio(s)!

New Pattern!

Apologies for my absence for the last week or so, I think my motivation has done a runner. With the typical English summer weather - rain, thunder and lightening - it's enough to  put anyone off doing anything! So it's been quite around here, milling around. just me and Tiny D. I've been trying to get her used to the piano. Oh, how I love to play :) Seeing Tiny D sat there banging away at the keys makes me so proud...

My piano, 'Theodore'.
Well I have managed to rustle you up a little crochet pattern for you guys to try. It's a cool pin cushion for all you sewers out there!

What do you think? It's something fun and useful to make. The pattern comes with a tutorial on how to change colours if you've never tried this kind of thing before. You can find the pattern on Etsy, Ravelry and Craftsy. Hope you have fun making it :)

Well, I won't be seeing you for another week I'm afraid. We are off on our Summer Holiday! It will be Tiny D's first time seeing the seaside, so it's bucket's and spade's at the ready :)

See you all soon,

Toodle Pip!
