A Bit Of Scandinavia

I have to say, I'm a bit of a fan of anything Scandinavian. I love the little wooden houses, furniture, fashion even their T.V programmes! But most of all, their traditional patterns like Fair Isle and unique flower shapes make my eyes light up with delight.

My husband and I went on our Honeymoon not too long ago cruising around the Norwegian Fjords with tremendous glaciers and snowy mountains. It is certainly a part of the world that has captured my heart and I could visit there again and again.

So that is my inspiration for my latest crochet pattern - a Scandinavian Flower Cushion;

I love the colours on this cushion and in particular my favourite at the moment - mustard yellow ♥

The technique I have used is called Intarsia Crochet. For those who aren't familiar with this, it is where a picture is crocheted in to the design using different colours. I really enjoy designing patterns using this technique as I think the results look pretty amazing.

You can find the pattern in my shops;

Give it a go and let me know what you think!
Right...I'm off to do some more Scandinavian inspired crocheting :)

Mmm..comfy :)

Have a great week and see you back here soon!

Chow for now :)

Bertie Baby Blanket

It's that time of the week again, for a new pattern update! This weeks pattern is the 'Bertie Baby Blanket' :)

It uses a lovely 'wave' effect to create the stripes and looks great if you use lots of different colours. I'm really enjoying making these little blankets at the minute. Once you have got the hang of the stitches, they're so easy to make while watching a little tele and drinking lots of milky coffee ♥

I named it the 'Bertie Baby Blanket' after one of my beloved toys as a child :)

You can find the new pattern in any of my shops;

I'm thinking of taking a week off to catch up with errands and little projects that have been on my 'to do' list for a while now but simply not had the time to catch up with them. My shops will still be open and I'll still be around if you need help with the patterns.

So, have a fab week and I'll see you back here soon!

Retro Baby!

Hello, it's new pattern time again! Meet the 'Retro Baby Blanket' crochet pattern. I've been working like a banshee this week on this vibrant little blanket. It was so enjoyable to make and I'm so happy with the result, that I actually want to frame it :)

It's a lovely project to make, ideal for that beginner who is looking for that next step and a bit of a challenge. Here I used 17 colours in total, but the great thing is, the colour choice is up to you, just using two colours would still look amazing. As always, I used Drops Muskat 100% cotton yarn, which does give the blanket a bit of weight and thickness.

You can make the blanket any size you want, with complete instructions and lots of photos included. It's great to make for your new baby or for a gift, or for your home. I'm sooo very tempted to make a extra large one for my settee :)

Tiny D loves it, even Auburn Ari wanted her picture taken with it ♥

Hope you like it as much as I do. Have a cosy crafty Sunday :)
